A South African man, Joshua Botha has been deported from the USA over fake visa and illegal activity. This happened due to the crackdown on illegal immigrants in the USA by Trump’s administration.

Joshua Botha, 37 has been living in Buffalo, America for 4 years and has been working illegally until some people in his residence started suspecting him to be an illegal immigrant. A neighbour living in the street with Joshua Botha said she started suspecting him from the way he sneaked out of the house in the morning time and comes back late at night. She also said that Joshua would always hide somewhere each time he hears the police siren or sometimes run into apartment.

Another resident living in the neighborhood also said that he has overheard Joshua Botha on the phone with a relative saying that he is only living a low life because he does not have complete documents to work or do anything in America. While some illegal immigrants were being told to leave the country peacefully, Joshua Botha refused to do so instead he was indoors for days and not letting anyone see him or know he was still around the neighborhood.

When he observed that things were getting calm he got out again and started going to the places where he works part time jobs. He works at different construction sites helping them do the hard works and gets paid at the end of the day, then at the end of the day he waits until it gets dark then he sneaks back to his apartment.

Some people in his neighborhood mistook him several times as a thief because of the way he sneaks back to his apartment at night. An older resident living in the neighborhood said that a few times he observed Joshua Botha coming back home at late nights he flashed lights at him and found it was Joshua then he would ask him why he was sneaking like that and he will always say nothing, just his usual way of getting into his house.

This has been going on for the past 4 years and just recently a resident who was so uncomfortable with the sneaky moves of Joshua Botha had to report to the police because he felt that Joshua might be dangerous to the neighborhood.

When he reported to the police, the police quickly swinged into action and went to Joshua Botha’s apartment to make some search. When they arrived at his apartment he was not available so they had to hang around and wait for him but someone must have informed Joshua Botha that the police was at his house looking for him so he didn’t return home that day.

Joshua Botha did not also return the next day and this made the police to leave and schedule it another day. Nobody also knows how Joshua got information that the police are gone then he returned back to his apartment but when arrived at his apartment he hurriedly took a few things that he needed and quickly left his apartment.

The fifth day the police came back again to the neighborhood and Joshua Botha was not around. The police got information few minutes before arriving that he was available but nobody knew how he got information also that the police was coming then he fled away. The police went to some of the construction sites where he works to search for him but he was not available then they had to hang around again at night to wait for him but he never came back home.

Few days later a friend of Joshua Botha came to visit him and the police was still hanging around the neighborhood, as soon as he knocked on Joshua’s door the police came up immediately and took him in for questioning. During an interrogation with the police, the man said that Joshua is his childhood friend from South Africa and he never knew that Joshua Botha was staying illegally in America. He said that a few times they hanged around and had lunch he has always talked about opening a barbershop New York city because he has always wanted to open his barbershop business in America but he never told his friend that he was staying illegally in America.

The police asked him if he could have an idea where Joshua could be hiding, a relative or closest friend living in America, then he said yes that Joshua has a closest friend too living in Rochester, New York. The police took the address and went at night to look for him, when they arrived at the address they knocked several times but nobody opened the door then they had to follow through the backyard to enter the house and while approaching the backyard there they saw Joshua Botha running away. They chased him down the road until they caught him and arrested him.

Joshua Botha was questioned why he has been hiding from the police and he only said because he has fake papers and that was when the police finally decided to deport him back to South Africa.
