A Nigerian young talented singer Ifunanya Nwangene has passed away after a black mamba snake attacked her in her rented apartment in Abuja. According to her neighbours, they said that miss Ifunanya was attacked by the black mamba snake while she was sleeping in her bedroom and then she raised alarm that got everyone running to her apartment and they killed the snake but she was already getting ill from the snake venom.

She was rushed to the hospital in Abuja for immediate treatment but the hospital rejected her saying that they do not have anti snake venom to save her. She was quickly taken to another hospital but she was also rejected because they didn’t have a snake anti venom to save her life and unfortunately she passed away.

A relative to miss Ifunanya said that miss Ifunanya gave her a call telling her that she has been bitten by a black mamba snake and she is being taken to the hospital right now, the relative was shocked and didn’t hesitate to call some of her family members to alert them on what was going on. The relative said that when she called back miss Ifunanya to know which hospital she was being taken to, another person picked up the call and told her that they were going to the second hospital after being rejected by the first hospital because they did not have anti snake venom. The relative got more frustrated and had to rush quickly to see miss Ifunanya but unfortunately before she could make it miss Ifunanya has already passed away.

Some of miss Ifunanya’s family members living in Abuja came to the hospital as soon as they heard what was happening but when they all arrived miss Ifunanya had already passed away. Her parents who were living in another state were also alerted about the situation but before they could talk with their daughter to hear her voice, she had already passed away.

A lot of Nigerians have been pouring out their anger over the poor conduct of the Nigerian health care lamenting that this is not the first or second time such mistakes and misfortune is happening in the hospitals whereby patients are being rejected because the hospitals do not have the necessary equipments or medication to attend to patients especially patients under emergency.

Some Nigerians are saying that the government has failed in providing good healthcare system for the people and it keeps on being worse everyday. An elderly woman from miss Ifunanya’s apartment said that when they arrived at the first hospital to get a snake anti venom shot for miss Ifunanya, the nurses were acting like it was not a serious issue, they felt relentless and did not act like someone’s life is at risk. She complained bitterly saying that it hurts her heart that miss Ifunanya passed away over a little mistake which the hospital could have taken care of. She also said that both hospitals acted reluctant even when they were telling them that the young lady was bitten by a black mamba snake and needed urgent medical attention.

According to one miss Ifunanya’s neighbour, Mr. Tony Ibeh said that the hospitals are not capable of carrying out some urgent medical issues because the nurses were all reluctant when they arrived carrying miss Ifunanya and at the same time they don’t have anti snake venom to save her life. He said that they were frustrated and quickly had to rush to the next hospital but when they also got there the hospital has no anti snake venom to save miss Ifunanya’s life and they got helpless and more frustrated because miss Ifunanya was already losing breath. He further said that when they tried carrying her to the third hospital that was when she passed away. Mr Tony also said that the Nigerian healthcare system has failed a lot Nigerians at critical conditions like this, he expressed his anger also on mother who was giving birth few weeks ago and the electricity went off but the hospital did not bother about turning on the generator to continue the child birth instead they continued with phone torch lights which was so unprofessional in this modern era of healthcare.

A lot of Nigerians have also been giving out their heartfelt condolences to the family of miss Ifunanya, some of the condolences are from Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Some Nigerians have also been saying that miss Ifunanya was warned last year 2025 November on a Facebook page that gives out prophecy where she was warned about snakes being inside her toilet pipes but she ignored the message thinking it was some regular posts. Most Nigerians have been testifying how the Facebook page has been helpful to some people. Some Nigerians are saying that if miss Ifunanya had listened to the prophecy and prayed over issue maybe she would not have been attacked by the black mamba
